On request, August Bertrams GmbH supplies sheet metal parts coated ready to install — by cathodic dip coating (e-coat), powder coating or galvanizing. You commission a component, not three separate trades.

Anyone who buys cutting, forming and coating separately manages transport, schedules and interfaces themselves — and bears the risk if something goes wrong between manufacturing and finishing. With us, responsibility stays in one place: we align the design with the coating process (drainage holes, suspension points, edge radii), schedule the finishing within the production planning and inspect the result before delivery in line with our QM system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001.

Cathodic dip coating (e-coat)

Cathodic dip painting for uniform corrosion protection — even in cavities and at edges. Ideal as a primer or for parts installed out of sight.

Applied electrostatically and baked on: a mechanically robust, decorative surface in practically any RAL shade — matt, glossy or textured.

Galvanizing

Long-term corrosion protection for parts used outdoors — from the outer frame in vehicle construction to the roof bow. On request combined with powder coating as a duplex system.

From raw sheet to the finished surface

For us, coating is not an add-on but part of the production planning: already during laser cutting and press braking we take into account how the part will later be coated. After welding, the assemblies go straight into finishing — without any detour across your desk.

Can I commission manufacturing and coating together?

Yes — that is the standard case. You send a drawing with the surface specification, we deliver the ready-to-install, coated part. We take care of scheduling, transport to the coating stage and final inspection.

Which is better: e-coat or powder coating?

Cathodic dip coating protects cavities and edges uniformly as well and often serves as a primer; powder coating provides the robust, decorative top layer in any RAL shade. For the highest requirements, the two are combined as a duplex system.

Why should coating be commissioned directly from the sheet metal processor?

Because design and coating are interrelated: drainage holes, suspension points and edge radii must suit the process. If this is only considered after manufacturing, it means costly rework. With us, it is part of the planning from the very start.
