The laser cuts what the shear cannot: any contour, tight radii, fine cut-outs — and here in large format up to 12,000 × 2,500 mm and material thicknesses up to 20 mm. With no tooling costs, it is the fastest route from CAD model to finished part.
Large-format laser cutting
August Bertrams GmbH laser-cuts sheet metal up to a size of 12,000 × 2,500 mm and a material thickness of up to 20 mm. Twelve metres of processing length are the exception in the market — and the reason why long profiles and large-format parts come from us in one piece instead of from several welded sections.
Because the laser works without tooling, no tooling costs arise: from the individual part through the prototype to volume production, we manufacture directly from your CAD data. In addition, our 3D lasers also process already-formed components — cut-outs and contours after bending.

The laser in a process comparison
Straight blanks in volume production are cut more cheaply by shear cutting, recurring hole patterns by punching. The laser’s strengths are contours, thicknesses up to 20 mm and large format — and, combined with punching, punch-laser processing in a single setup. Laser-cut parts move on directly with us to press braking, welding and coating.
