What powder coating delivers

In powder coating, electrostatically charged paint powder is sprayed onto the earthed component and then cured in the oven into a closed, resilient layer. The process works without solvents and produces significantly thicker, more impact-resistant layers than wet paint.

For visible parts, powder coating is usually the first choice: it is available in virtually any RAL shade, either matt, glossy or with a textured surface — and withstands impact, scratches and weathering. For the highest corrosion protection we combine it with a cathodic dip primer to form a duplex system.

How weather-resistant is a powder coating?

For indoor and sheltered outdoor use, the powder layer on its own is sufficient. For permanent exposure to the elements we recommend the duplex build-up: cathodic dip primer or galvanizing plus a powder top coat.
