Punching from the smallest part up to 12,050 × 2,000 mm
When the same geometry is needed hundreds or thousands of times, punching is unbeatably economical. Five CNC turret punch presses with 44 tool stations each produce punched parts up to 12,050 × 2,000 mm at our works — precise, reproducible and in series.
Volume production on five CNC turret punch presses
August Bertrams GmbH punches sheet metal parts from the smallest part up to a size of 12,050 × 2,000 mm at sheet thicknesses up to 8 mm — on five CNC turret punch presses, each with 44 tools and 30 to 50 tonnes of press force.
The turret makes the difference: 44 tool stations per machine cover the common round, slotted and formed geometries without any tool change between the operations. That keeps cycle times short and unit costs low — especially for recurring series with many similar openings. Special shapes are clarified when you enquire.

When punching — and when combining?
Many similar openings in series: punching. Fine contours or single parts: laser cutting. Both in one part — hole patterns plus free contours, together with forming operations such as extrusions and threads: the punch-laser combination handles that in a single setup. Punching is done in all common materials; on request the finished parts go straight on to press braking and coating.
Frequently asked questions
Up to what size can punching be done?
Punched parts up to 12,050 × 2,000 mm at sheet thicknesses up to 8 mm — from the smallest part to large formats, on five CNC turret punch presses with 30 to 50 tonnes of press force.
From what quantity is punching worthwhile?
As a rule of thumb: as soon as the same geometry recurs. Thanks to the 44 tool stations per machine, there is no tool change between the contours — even small series run economically. For single parts, laser cutting is usually the better choice.
Are there tooling costs?
For common round, slotted and formed geometries we draw on our existing tool inventory. Whether your geometry requires a special tool is clarified directly when we prepare the quote.
Can punched parts be processed further directly?
Yes — press braking, welding and coating are handled in the same order. You receive the ready-to-install part instead of a semi-finished product.
